The Bowl for Ronnie benefit for the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund returned to Pinz Bowling Center in Studio City on Thursday 11/13/2025.
Retuning emcee and celebrity bowler Eddie Trunk of Sirius/XM radio gathered a team that included Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath). Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme) Brent Woods and bassist Shavo Odadjian (System of a Down). The sixth member of their team was Rick Thomas, who was the winning bidder in the eBay auction to join the team. His winning bid was $9,000.00.























During the event, the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund proudly presented a $25,000 check to the Regents of the University of California for continued cancer research in Ronnie’s memory. There were several raffles, and the top bowlers received trophies.
Other rockers who attended included Jeff Pilson (Foreigner) and his frontman’s former Hurricane bandmate Robert Sarzo, Glen Sobel (Alice Cooper), Oni Logan of Lynch Mob, drummer extraordinaire Kenny Aranoff, Riki Rachtman and Faster Pussycat founder Taime Downe.
Former Dio band members Simon Wright, Rowan Robertson, Scott Warren and Doug Aldrich also attended in support of their former frontman’s charity, as well as West Bound led by singer Chas West and Jason Cornwell were also on hand to knock down some pins.
Red-Carpet participants included, Wendy Dio, George Thorogood, Bobby Brown, Macy Gray, Michael Sweet (Stryper), Yachtley Crew, Drummer Matt Starr, Bjorn Englen and Rob Math (Soul Sign), Graham Bonnet and Beth-Ami Heavenstone, Regina Banali, Rita Haney, Fred Coury (Cinderella), Gilby Clarke (Guns ‘N Roses), Dino Jelusick, Jason Charles Miller, Danny “Count” Koker and Stoney Curtis (Count’s 77), Star Fields and Al Coronel (Actors), Brian Tichy, Dennis Atlas, Marc Ferrari (Keel and Cold Sweat), Artist Robert Vargas, Ira Black (Vio-Lence), DJ William Howell, Alistair St. James and Jacob Bunton (Adler), Sean McNabb, John Bush (Armored Saint), Matt Duncan, Jordan Ziff, Daniel Dekay and Neil Turbin.
