SOMETIMES X
Zero 2 Hero
Chavis Records

Hailing from Atlanta, GA,
Sometimes X sounds like they were raised on a blend of The Marvelous 3 and
perhaps Southgang, or is that Floyd’s Funk Revival. Needless to say, Sometimes
X comes off sounding like disciples from the Butch Walker School of
songwriting. The songs rock a little harder than the Marvelous 3 but are not as
immediate as them. Tommy Redd has a distinguishable voice, which certainly
helps the cause. The best songs on this release are “Shoebox”, the funky twang
of “What I Like” and “Guilty”. Fans of melodic hard rock bands from the 80’s
and power pop rock bands will thoroughly enjoy this diverse release.
