TPRS Spotlight Artist
PANDEMIC
Based
out of the Hudson Valley region of New York, Pandemic is a 4 piece modern rock
band that has recently released “Angry Sky” their debut album for dbAggresive
Records / Dreamscape Music Group. They site a variety of influences from the
good (Saigon Kick and Dream Theater on the tracks Glitter and Thy Majesty
respectively) to the terrible (Creed and Godsmack).
While having a variety of song types shows diversity, this CD is a tough listen
for the typical TPRS.com audience member. The tuned down guitars are a negative
and vocalist Tim Kopp shows enough chops at times on “Angry Sky” to avoid the
Creed / Pearl Jam vocal mumblings that are at times evident.
Pandemic has work with producer N.S. "Buck" Brundage (Fates Warning) and “Angry
Sky” was mixed and mastered by Phil Magnotti (Fates Warning, ELO). The band
has the potential to make their voices heard but should try to create their own
sound rather than chase the boorish modern dirge rock.
