Russian progressive metal Nordream weaves a beautiful 9 track CD titled
“Memories Progression”. On the opening track “Memories Of Hope”, the most
noticeable instrument is the piano / keyboards of Julia Chistyakova. At times
they sound like they belong in a Savatage song while other keyboards
progressions sound like they belong in a Hawkwind song. While definite having
a progressive edge, Nordream still has enough power and polish to appeal to
power metal and gothic metal fans. “Piercing Time Memories” and “Memories I
Love” have a definite gothic feel to them. “Memories I Love” has so may
different parts and changes that one moment beautiful keyboards dominate then
Rouben Kazariyan’s guitar fires into machine gun riffs from Metallica’s “And
Justice For All Era”. |
