A
rather prolific group, Misery Seed is a straight-ahead, no frills hard rock band
that plays in a style that can be appreciate by fans of The Misfits, The Ramones
and Straw Dogs.
The CD we received from Misery Seed contains 12 tracks that were recorded
between 1999 and 2001.
“You Lied” and “Woke Up Today” sound like a lost Misfits tracks
and display the bands ferocious stripped down energy.
James Hunnicutt’s vocals throughout the CD wonder between the styles of
the above 3 mentioned bands.
The instrumental interlude “Spiral” catches you off guard before the
speed rock track “Level III” erupts.
In true crossbred punk / rock & roll / metal style, the songs are
short and to the point.
According to their bio “The band prides itself on it’s straight-ahead, less
is more style of Rock & Roll”.
Fortunately, Misery Seed appears to have been able to avoid the hideous
influences that have abounded from the Pacific Northwest since the early 90’s.
Members:
James Hunnicutt (Vocals / Guitars)
