From the scorching state of Texas, Goudie delivers power-pop with a glam edge in the vein of predecessors like Bang
Tango, Imperial Drag, and Faster Pussycat, which has been cosmically woven into
a modern sound that could put them in the same genre of Monster Magnet and
Powerman 5000. Taking their namesake from vocalist Johnny Goudie, this band
enters the mainstream with their debut, Peep Show (Elektra).
According to their frontman, the band hosts a
variety of influences ranging from Black Sabbath to the Police, though he never
studied music because he strived to develop his "own musical
identity." The foursome got their big break when drummer Dan McCarrol from
The Music Company had them perform a showcase for the company's founder Lars
Ulrich (Metallica).
