Ayreon

His Web site boasts that "To say that Ayreon (Arjen Anthony  Lucassen) is an exceptional phenomenon in Dutch rock music is an understatement to say the least."

With that said, the artist's talents include being a composer, songwriter, singer, guitarist, bassist, pianist, conductor, director, and producer.

After building a reputation as one of the few musicians in the world who is capable of writing a classic rock opera and selling an impressive number of albums without playing a single gig, Ayreon travels into the new millennium with the release of two new albums.  Entitled The Universal Migrator Parts I & II (Insideout Music American), these discs are said to balance the "savage" and the "atmospheric" elements of his works into two parts.  And though the albums will be released at the same time, they will be sold in stores independently.

In previous projects, he had for the greater part recruited other top musicians from Holland, but for these releases, he traveled all over the world to gather a multi-national assemblance, including talents from Helloween, Primal Fear, Stratovarius, Rhapsody, Tiamat, Symphony X, Spock's Beard, Shadow Gallery, Lana Lane, Elegy, Ars Nova, After Forever, Krezip, and Iron Maiden.

Arjen Anthony Lucassen also attested to his fascination for traveling through time and manipulating dimensions in earlier releases under the same moniker after experiencing other successes with previous bands even before his alter ego Ayreon came to life, and he has also performed on other albums as side projects.
