Since 1993, Ashes
to Ashes has been playing the local and regional club circuit surrounding
Pittsburgh, PA opening for the likes of Slaughter, Union, Motley Crue,
Scorpions, Def Leppard, and others. And when headlining their own club gigs in front of a large
following of loyal fans, the band is known for delivering a few sets
packed with a few cover tunes as well as "classic" Ashes to
Ashes songs like the ever popular "Eat Me, I'm A Hoagie."
|
The three-piece ensemble has
always produced a unique pop sound with a hard edge drawling from diverse
influences that include the Cars, Cheap Trick, and KISS.
The band features frontman Andrew C. Bell (vocals/guitar), Ed
Beeler (bass), and Dave Campbell (drums), who are known for their energy
and great sense of humor. Their latest release Big Moving Parts is the fifth and
perhaps final full-length album that the band will release on their
independent label ATA-BOY! Records, pending a possible major label deal
with RCA Records. |

The catchy melodies
from Big Moving Parts take the band in a more melodic direction than their
past releases, enhancing the mysterious vocal sound of Bell with soothing
harmonies, while keeping enough of an edge to grab your attention.
Highlights include
“Maybe You Kill,” the modern sounding “Underground,” and
“Become,” which offers sinister yet melodic vocals, and a great ballad
called "Bury Me." But
as most fans have come to learn, this band is most appreciated live. |
The album is distributed at
local chain stores through Redeye Distribution, but can also be ordered directly
through the band. Visit their site
