Dangerous Toys

When you think of Dangerous Toys, a few things come to mind.  One of course being the world famous evil clown known by the band as the devilish Bill Z. Bub, who has been graphically portrayed in many ways on the band's album covers and swag since their self titled release in 1989. The other is their duo of hits, namely "Scared" and "Teas'n Pleas'n" from that album, which will always bring back memories of the days when MTV played videos and metal ruled the world.

In the past year or so Dangerous Toys has reunited for a few shows around their native stomping grounds, and did so again to ring in the new year at the Bronco Bowl along with headliners Lillian Axe.

Jason McMaster

The band recaptured the past with all but one original member, namely Paul Lidel who has been with the toys for several years. In fact, he even formed the AC/DC style Broken Teeth band with vocalist Jason McMaster.

Scott Dalhover

Though they did leave room for one of their newer and best anthems "Pissed," the title track from the band's third album, the set stuck to old school heavy hitters like "Ten Boots (Stompin')," "Take Me Drunk" from their self-titled Columbia (Sony) debut and "Line 'Em Up" and "Gimme' No Lip" from their sophomore effort Hellacious Acres.

The band broke for the countdown at midnight after some Teas'n, and was joined by radio personnel and the guys from EMN and Lillian Axe just before finishing things off with "Scared."

Mike Watson

Vocalist Jason McMaster tells us that while the band does perform on occasion, he is keeping very busy with several other projects, namely Broken Teeth, Gahdzilla Motor Company, Watchtower, SSIK, and Glamourpuss.
