The Scorpions
Star Lake
Burgettstown, PA

6/15/2002

Klaus Meine

The Scorpions have rocked the United States like a “Hurricane” for many years, and with hits like “Still Loving You,” “No One Like You,” and “Tease Me, Please Me,” their whirlwind blew through the east hitting Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Columbus, Ohio this past weekend.  Along with Saturday evening’s swift performance, unfortunately came the pouring rain, but fans didn’t waiver.

The ScorpionsThese days the Scorpions are supporting their most recent offering entitled Bad for Good: The Very Best of the Scorpions, featuring two new tracks including the single “Cause I Love You,” which has already made is mark at radio.  As always their performance showcased the entertaining on-stage antics of guitarists Rudolph Schenker, Matthias Jabs and bassist Ralph Rieckermann as their synchronized line-up tore through solos and signature guitar riffs.

James KottakTheir most recent addition, James Kottak (Kingdom Come, Warrant), who had joined the band several years back,  is certainly also worthy of mention from his highly energetic solo performance to his stick twirling antics and many wardrobe changes (a few of which enabled him to proudly display his patriotism).  And while vocalist Klaus Meine takes a lower key approach, from the whisper of “Winds of Change” to the roar of “The Zoo” his distinct accent is unforgettable.

More information about the Scorpions and their co-headlining tour with Deep Purple can be found on their official Web site at http://www.the-scorpions.com.
