Dio, Lynch Mob, and Armored Saint
Bogart's - Cincinnati, Ohio
February 21, 2001

Lynch Mob

After countless attempts to recapture the past, the vocalist who had originally fueled the fire behind George Lynch's band is finally back.  That's right, Oni Logan has rejoined the guitar hero for this tour, and from the looks of it, they will be performing live for several months to come.

Lynch and Logan are joined by Chuck Garric (bass), who ironically, had performed with Dio on his most recent European tour. He is also know for touring with LA Guns and work on Rikki Rockett's upcoming solo album.  Also, new addition Jimmy D'Anda from the Bulletboys has taken on the percussion duties for the band.

For those concerned about the content of the mob's show, be assured that it includes only the Lynch Mob classics that made you a fan in the first place and a few new tracks written in the same vein, but none of the newer material from the third version of the band that had caused the majority of fans to stray.

If you are excited by the maestro's classic guitar riffs and tracks like "Wicked Sensation" and "River of Love," then you will not be disappointed.  Their forty-five minute performance included both of the above, as well as other memorable cuts like "Hell Child," "For a Million Years," and "All I Want."

Believing in the success of "supergroup" efforts from other band's like the currently touring tribute version of Thin Lizzy, it is pleasing to see a diverse group of proven musicians grace the stage.   And with D'Anda and Garric in the band, Logan and Lynch have proven that they can bring magic to the music whether they were the complete line-up that originally recorded the songs or not.

According to the band's publicist, Lynch Mob is planning to record their new material for an upcoming release later this year.  Lynch also tells us that we can still anticipate a release of the Stonehouse project he had recorded with Matt Kramer (Saigon Kick), most likely on his Web site.  For more information about George Lynch and Lynch Mob, visit www.georgelynch.com, and also be sure to read our interview with Lynch from last summer.

Don't forget to read the Armored Saint and Dio reviews from the same show.
