With a tour spanning less than two months G3 featured Joe Satriani, Steve Vai,
and John Petrucci along with a multi-talented ensemble of supporting bands and
special guest performances. Leaving little room to rest along the way, the
band crammed in as many tour dates as possible in recognition of the the most
powerful instrument in rock and in support of various solo releases, including
the double live albums from Satriani, Live in San Francisco, and Vai, Alive in
an Ultra World, both from Epic and bass releases from Stu Hamm and Billy Sheehan
which were released in the United States on Vai's Favored Nations label.
TPRS.com made a lengthy trip to Washington D.C. to gather some great live shots
of the bands and interview Billy Sheehan, who recently
joined Steve Vai for the first time since their performances with
