Faster Pussycat
Post-Gazette Pavilion, Burgettstown, PA
June 29, 2002

Faster Pussycat took make-up to a different level and appeared on stage in black patent leather, white suit shirts, and ties, making a great impact within a few seconds of stage time.

With an eerie resemblance to Annie Lennox, Xristian Simon's look shocked many with his dominatrix-style getup complete with thigh-high stockings and a long black kilt-style skirt.  And as the band kicked into a slow-paced cover of the Nancy Sinatra classic "These Boots are Made for Walkin’," Tamie Down truly stole the show gently puffing his cigarette and holding a vinyl skull & bones umbrella in hand as he somberly sang on.

But, for those non-goth fans, things brightened up quickly as they sped up the beat and tore out a few of their own cuts like “Slip of the Tongue,” and old-school favorites like “Bathroom Wall” and a new version of “Cathouse,” with a less politically correct chorus.

After the band’s recent reunion tour last year, Greg Steele has once again parted with vocalist Taime Down and guitarist Brent Muscat, who are joined by Newlydeads members and now honorary Pussycat members, Bassist Danny Nordhal (The Throbs, NY Loose, Motochrist), drummer Chad Stewart (Coyote Shivers, Motochrist), and guitarist Xristian Simon.

In addition to introducing one new track, and other old favorites like “House of Pain,” Faster Pussycat pulled out another cover.  In dedication to Bianca Butthole, who passed away on December 15, 2001 while on tour with her band Betty Blowtorch, Taime Down proudly sang "Shut Up and F#ck.”

Faster Pussycat’s latest release, a remix of favorites is available through Cleopatra Records.  For more information about the band, visit www.fasterpussycat.com
