With their
next album about one session from being finished, Enuff Znuff hit the road
before the holidays to perform a few select shows, including a two-night
showcase at the Revolution in Parma, Ohio that included a great selection of
tracks like “Fly Away” and “Alright” from their last release 10.
Enuff Znuff
kicked the first show off with the most appropriate tribute, “Revolution,”
throwing in another Beatles tune, “Come Together,” before long, but stuck to
mostly newer material of their own. While drawing from albums like
Paraphenilia and Tweaked, they were sure to leave room for the hits near the
end of the evening as they tore through “Baby Loves You” off of Strength, as
well as “Fly High Michelle” and “The New Thing” from their self-titled
release. But, it was clear that fans equally enjoyed talent showcases
like the bluesy “How Am I Supposed to Write a Love Song?”
Vocalist
and major writing force behind the band, Donnie Vie told us in his own
colorful way that he’d prefer not to work with Spitfire Records again on the
upcoming release, but the band already has plays to work with several labels
overseas.
“As far as
the United States – America goes, we’ve got decent management now, and we’ve
some decent labels – major labels looking at it again. If we have to I’ll
change the name of the frickin’ band because I just don’t want to waste any
more great records.”
He defended
his stance by saying, “I’m negative because I think we get f*cked and I
think we’re the most disrespected, kick-ass band that there is. The world
needs rock stars, and we’re rock stars.”
Vie says
that the writing direction on the new album has been a lot more positive.
He says he has moved passed depressed now that a new love has entered his
life. The record, which is comprised of completely new material has moved
on from sad to mad, he admits, though the last view tracks show much more
positivity lyrically.
