Cinderella
6/21/00
Polaris Amp.
Columbus, OH

Some fifteen years after their first video "Shake Me" was released to MTV and the band embarked on a national tour with Poison, Cinderella has hit the road with Poison once again as their very special guests on the Power to the People tour.

They hit the stage for an hour packed of energy and soul, starting with a familiar riff, as vocalist Tom Keifer hit the stage with big shades, a black top hat, and his double-necked Gibson, belting out the title track off their debut album, “Night Songs.”

Once the fog cleared, the stage lights shined on one of the best rock bands that came out of the eighties, with Jeff LaBar (Guitar), Cinderella Eric Brittingham (Bass), and Fred Coury (Drums) completing the foursome.  They kept the place shakin’ with tracks like “Hot & Bothered,” “Somebody Save Me,” and “Shelter Me,” and even slowed things down for a few ballads and a few surprises.

During “Heartbreak Station” Coury moved to the front of the stage to play the violin.  In addition, the arena sized stage allowed for Keifer to play his own set of keys for “Don’t Know What You Got (Til its Gone)," while touring keyboard player Charlie Lawrence, who has been with the band for several years, supported them through the rest of the set.

As tradition demands, the boys encored with “Gypsy Road” and “Shake Me,” without which it simply wouldn’t be a Cinderella show.    Read our interview with Fred Coury for more about Cinderella and visit the band’s Web site at www.cinderella.net.
