Among the striving guitar virtuosos on Los Angeles' Sunset Strip emerged Stu Simone, a flashy musician who has made a career as a keyboard player, most recently joining Poison on the road for their past two tours and serving as the musical director of the Journey tribute band, Escape.

After watching years of guitar dominated rock music that has left keyboard players nameless and often standing in the shadows, the audience is sure to listen as Simone shreds his way through many familiar anthems bringing a shocking attack on the often forgotten ebonies and ivories. Under the KEYTAR moniker, Simone offers an innovative and impressive guitar-style approach to the keys that brings him center stage.

KEYTAR’s debuts on Trek Records, a new independent label whose mission is to "provide you the listener with fresh new sounds, or 'rock with a spin'."

The album is appropriately entitled "No Strings Attached" and features ten tracks which include a new version of Hendrix’s "Purple Haze," a modern composition entitled "Ave Maria" in the spirit of the Bach classic, and tributes to sports arena rock like "Charge!" and "Rock & Roll, Part II." And as the title claims, the entire album is lead only by Simone's keyboard, with only a minor fret board appearance on the improvisation of Gary Glitter's anthem, there truly are no strings on this album, though one may find that fact hard to believe after giving it a listen.
