The Marvelous 3's history began when vocalist/guitarist Butch Walker and drummer Mitch "Slug" McLee started playing together in a heavy metal cover band about fifteen years ago.

When the teens moved to Los Angeles they added singer Jesse Harte and bassist Jayce Fincher, Walker moved to background vocals and guitar, and Bite the Bullet was formed. The band went on to release two hard rock albums on Charisma, an independent subsidiary of Virgin Records, under the name Southgang at a time that Walker describes as "the end of a dying era." In support of their Columbia Portrait debut, Samantha 7 has hit the road to tour the US over two and a half months, after which they plan to tour Europe. TPRS.com caught up with the band in Buffalo, New York at Migg's Classic Roxx Café, where they played to an enthusiastic crowd that was surprisingly comprised mostly of men.

With some properly orchestrated planning, DIO is back on track and certainly ready to reintroduce fans to the type of music that brought the band legendary success early on. Vocalist and founder Ronnie James Dio admits that the band had gone through a period of time where their direction became confusing to their fans and even to themselves.

Tony Montana had played bass for Great White through the height of their success, but was fired for as he puts it, "being a bit apathetic about the direction the music was taking." During our interview with Jack Russell, we talked briefly about a recent appearance by Montana at a Great White performance in Seattle, Washington. Russell had said “It was cool.
