Enuff Znuff - Cleveland, OH 10/9/2002

Interestingly, in support of their upcoming release Welcome to Blue Island (already available in Japan) Enuff Znuff has embarked on a co-headlining tour with former Mr. Big vocalist Eric Martin. Normally, a simple club tour wouldn’t be so interesting, but this time the band has embarked on a tour without their lead vocalist Donnie Vie. And considering the trademark beatlesque vocal harmonies that the band is known for, it makes for an interesting road report. Read the complete Enuff Znuff - Cleveland, OH 10/9/2002 review...

Pretty Girls Make Graves - Good Health

With an evil moniker and rather disturbing CD cover, Pretty Girls Make Graves is a mixture of styles from Swedish rock and roll to female fronted power punk. Lead track “Speakers Push The Air” is imbedded in your head before the song is even finished. Equally as catchy is the tongue in cheek “If You Hate Your Friends, You’re Not Alone”. THE UNDERGROUND REBELS - The EP

The Underground Rebels debut 5 song EP reminds me of a light mix of Buckcherry, Blackfish, Pop Punk and classic rock. The tempos, phrasings and sounds are very modern but seem to be too laid back as if they are holding back on purpose. Even with the volume turned up, this is the vibe that comes across. This EP very well may be one that requires multiple listens before the bite catches you. The most immediate song on the disc is “Down Anymore” which is very hook-laiden. Closing track “Rewind” hints at Blackfish with a 2005 vibe. Read the complete THE UNDERGROUND REBELS - The EP review...

Marvelous 3 - Southgang: Butch Walker Interview

Invited to Pittsburgh to perform at the grand opening celebration for the Hard Rock Café at Station Square, Butch Walker proudly introduced selections from his new solo release Left of Self-Centered (Arista). Prior to that performance, he took the time to update TPRS.com on what he’s been up to over the last couple years…

Around the time the Marvelous 3 had released their second album with Elektra, “everything was sort of diminishing,” he explained. Read the complete Marvelous 3 - Southgang: Butch Walker Interview review...

Marvelous 3: Butch Walker Interview

The Marvelous 3's history began when vocalist/guitarist Butch Walker and drummer Mitch "Slug" McLee started playing together in a heavy metal cover band about fifteen years ago.

When the teens moved to Los Angeles they added singer Jesse Harte and bassist Jayce Fincher, Walker moved to background vocals and guitar, and Bite the Bullet was formed. The band went on to release two hard rock albums on Charisma, an independent subsidiary of Virgin Records, under the name Southgang at a time that Walker describes as "the end of a dying era." Poison - Samantha 7 CC Deville Interview

In support of their Columbia Portrait debut, Samantha 7 has hit the road to tour the US over two and a half months, after which they plan to tour Europe. TPRS.com caught up with the band in Buffalo, New York at Migg's Classic Roxx Café, where they played to an enthusiastic crowd that was surprisingly comprised mostly of men.

For those who haven't heard, Samantha 7 features lead vocalist, songwriter, and as always, guitar great C.C. DeVille. When asked which he prefers, Poison or Samantha 7, C.C. says he likes Poison, but he loves to sing… Read the complete Poison - Samantha 7 CC Deville Interview review...

Enuff Znuff: Q&A with Chip Znuff

While Enuff Znuff has spent countless years trying to erase the stigma created when they were grouped with the glam and the metal bands of the late eighties because of their flamboyant appearance, (and the tendency of people of the MTV generation to listen with they’re eyes instead of with they’re ears) they have now surprisingly embraced their past and joined this summer’s Poison line-up. Matt Kramer - War and Peas

Apart from the occasional regrouping of Saigon Kick, it seems Matt Kramer has been keeping busy working on his own music. His self-produced solo debut War & Peas first offers “Soul Star.” Its one of the most refreshing lead tracks this reviewer has heard in a long while, and Kramer appropriately calls it a "serious, raunchy, sex-rock stomper."

The album continues on with a showcase that proves Kramer hasn't lost his sense of humor or his talent for writing diverse and truly alternative music with clearly apparent seventies rock and glam roots. Read the complete Matt Kramer - War and Peas review...

Enuff Z'Nuff - 10

Even after the entrance of grunge and changes to the original line-up, the legendary Chicago-based Enuff Z'Nuff has continued on, releasing more than a handful of albums jam-packed with the classic pop sound that revolutionized music when the Beatles caused mass hysteria many years ago. The writing team of Chip Znuff and Donnie Vie stole the hearts of a new generation of fans when they released their self-titled debut and songs like "Fly High Michele" and "The New Thing" more than a decade ago. Sometimes X - Zero 2 Hero

Hailing from Atlanta, GA, Sometimes X sounds like they were raised on a blend of The Marvelous 3 and perhaps Southgang, or is that Floyd’s Funk Revival. Needless to say, Sometimes X comes off sounding like disciples from the Butch Walker School of songwriting. The songs rock a little harder than the Marvelous 3 but are not as immediate as them. Tommy Redd has a distinguishable voice, which certainly helps the cause. The best songs on this release are “Shoebox”, the funky twang of “What I Like” and “Guilty”.
