Scratching Post - This Time It Is Personal

Hailing from Unionville, Ontario, Canada, Scratching Post proves that Kittie is not the only act in eastern Canada with claws. Scratching Post’s previous independent CD has already sold over 8000 copies and with their followup, “This Time It Is Personal”, they should only broaden their fanbase in Canada and expand it into the United States. SAIGON KICK - Greatest Hits Live

For those that never looked beyond "Love is on the Way," Saigon Kick in its original form began as Matt Kramer (vocals), Jason Bieler (guitar/vocals), Tom DeFile (bass), and Phil Varone (drums), and through the years, the band suffered a few line-up changes with the loss of vocalist Matt Kramer and bassist Tom DeFile. Chris McLernon joined the band to fulfill bass duites, and in Kramer's absence, Bieler took over all lead vocals and added Pete Dembrowski for additional support on guitar. EYE OF THE STORM - Fall Into Grace

The 3rd CD by Eye Of The Storm is a bit of a reach for us, but since they sent us the disc and did an excellent job of professionally packaging and recording this CD, it is in this month's reviews. We cannot stress hard enough to bands to make sure your packaging and CD are professionally produced. Even if means waiting several more months to get your material done correctly due to expenses, do not cheat yourself out of making a solid first impression on labels, etc. Read the complete EYE OF THE STORM - Fall Into Grace review...

DREA - Read What's Written

"Read What's Written" by Drea is a heavy journey through modern metal with elements that at times lean vocally into almost Black Metal territory. Opening track "Intoxicated" immediately calls to mind Lennon. Drea's vocals go between melodic and into aggressive interludes which sound eerily similar to the late Dawn Crosby of Detente and Fear of God. "Today" would be a candidate for a rock radio single with Drea sounding very tough and confident. Read the complete DREA - Read What's Written review...

THE UNDERGROUND REBELS - The EP

The Underground Rebels debut 5 song EP reminds me of a light mix of Buckcherry, Blackfish, Pop Punk and classic rock. The tempos, phrasings and sounds are very modern but seem to be too laid back as if they are holding back on purpose. Even with the volume turned up, this is the vibe that comes across. This EP very well may be one that requires multiple listens before the bite catches you. The most immediate song on the disc is “Down Anymore” which is very hook-laiden. Closing track “Rewind” hints at Blackfish with a 2005 vibe. Read the complete THE UNDERGROUND REBELS - The EP review...

Invited to Pittsburgh to perform at the grand opening celebration for the Hard Rock Café at Station Square, Butch Walker proudly introduced selections from his new solo release Left of Self-Centered (Arista). Marvelous 3: Butch Walker Interview

The Marvelous 3's history began when vocalist/guitarist Butch Walker and drummer Mitch "Slug" McLee started playing together in a heavy metal cover band about fifteen years ago.

When the teens moved to Los Angeles they added singer Jesse Harte and bassist Jayce Fincher, Walker moved to background vocals and guitar, and Bite the Bullet was formed. The band went on to release two hard rock albums on Charisma, an independent subsidiary of Virgin Records, under the name Southgang at a time that Walker describes as "the end of a dying era." MANDORA

Mandora is an Australian-based project fronted by lead vocalist Katrina Bray (who is from New Zealand). Citing influences that include Skunk Anansie, Lacuna Coil, Evanescence and Metallica, Mandora has its roots planted in melodic modern hard rock. Between Skin / Deborah Anne Dyer, Cristina Scabbia, and Amy Lee, Katrina sounds slightly like the charismatic Ms. Lee. Read the complete MANDORA review...
