Family life dictates my music hunting hours typically occur after 11PM. I will typically peruse my private collection or various music message forums trying to find something I have missed over the years or something new that demands my attention. Firehouse - Pittsburgh, PA 3/1/2001

In support of their latest release O2 (Spitfire), Firehouse performed one of a few scattered shows at Banana Joe’s in Pittsburgh, PA, kicking their set off with “Jumpin’,” the opening track from the new album. Keeping in mind that the band is known for hitting with ballads, it was great to hear them continue through the set with other up-tempo tracks like “Reach for the Sky” and “Take it Off,” another track from the new album. Pretty Boy Floyd - Burgettstown, PA 7/29/2002

Pretty Boy Floyd hit the side stage promptly at 5:15 p.m. in Burgettstown to warm-up fans for the evening’s show. Recalling glam rock favorites like “Leather Boyz” and “Junkie Girl,” Pretty Boy Floyd rocked things out for a small crowd of real fans. Highlights included the sing-along favorite “48 Hours” and a cover of Motley Crue’s “Toast of the Town.” Read the complete Pretty Boy Floyd - Burgettstown, PA 7/29/2002 review...

Jackyl - Pittsburgh, PA 1/30/2001

Almost a decade after the band's self-titled debut on Geffen Records, two of Jackyl's original members have moved on, namely Jimmy Stiff (guitar) and Tom Bettini (bass). Yet, the brothers Chris (drums) and Jeff Worley (guitar) and front man Jesse James Dupree have kept the band moving forward, and no matter where the future may lead them, there are two things that fans will certainly not forget - long hair can never cover up a redneck, and Jackyl will always put on one hell of a show. These facts were certainly apparent as always in this night's performance... Read the complete Jackyl - Pittsburgh, PA 1/30/2001 review...

Aerosmith - Burgettstown, PA 6/30/2001

While many bands have scored their hits and faded away, Aerosmith offers a colorful past and from the looks of their recent accomplishments, a vibrant future.

Most hard rock bands can "Dream On" when it comes to crossover success today, these rock 'n roll vets have accomplished the task and broken boundaries that are likely to make most record execs cringe. They've scored a #1 Billboard single, lead the revolution on the fusion of rock and rap genres, and most importantly they come back stronger with each new release... Twisted Sister - Never Say Never Club Days Volume II

Twisted Sister CDs are always a welcome friend and the new material is definitely an unexpected friend. Read the complete Twisted Sister - Never Say Never Club Days Volume II review...

Twisted Forever - A Tribute To Twisted Sister

Like most tribute CD's, Twisted Forever includes some killer covers and some that are just better left to the skip song button on the CD player. High points of the CD include Motorhead performing "Shoot Em Down", Overkill shredding "Under The Blade" and Sebastian Bach's screaming version of "You Can't Stop Rock N Roll" which would make one of his heroes, Dee Snider, proud. Tesla - Re-Plugged

Though the music industry fought to give Tesla a link to the glam scene of the late eighties, the California boys never lived up to the comparison. As a stripped down, bare bones rock ‘n roll band, they delivered memorable hits like “Love Song,” writing countless familiar melodies of there own, while throwing in enough well-liked cover tunes like “Signs” that they initially delivered a live acoustic album filled with several more than a decade ago, and even considered releasing an entirely new album of covers earlier this year. POSITION - The Message / Nobody’s Hero

Hard rock from the eastern side of Pennsylvania, Position has released 2 CD’s thus far since forming in the mid 1980’s. Their 1997 debut release “The Message” is upbeat and a welcome change from the tone deaf singers of modern schlock. Fans of bands such as Shooting Star, Inside Out and Black N Blue will enjoy the high energy tracks like lead track “The Message”, “Comin Home”, “Treat Me Right” (which features harmony vocals dead on similar to Inside Out) and “Rockin’ All Night”. VINNIE VINCENT - Invasion / All Systems Go

Over the top, in your face, controversial videos, wild clothes and insane guitar antics are just some of the catch phrases that could describe the debut CD by Vinnie Vincent. "Invasion" let it be known that Vincent could be even more extreme on the guitar than Mr. Simmons and Mr. Stanley ever thought or allowed. While he came with instant credibility as the man who replaced Ace Frehley in Kiss, Vincent also came armed with an album that I still consider a relevant masterpiece 17 years later.
