Lethal Saint - Breakout (Hittman Cover)

We came across a video by one our new favorite bands, Lethal Saint, recently.  They offer up a pretty impressive cover of Hittman's Breakout.   Lethal Saint scores high points with us for pulling out such an obscure cover when most bands are afraid to tip their hats to underground artists.  In our opinion, the band compares favorably to Pittsburgh's legendary Axtion.

Let us know what you think of this heavy metal band from Cyprus. Read the complete Lethal Saint - Breakout (Hittman Cover) review...

Dogma - Dirty Dark Diane

The Dogma is an Italian band whom we first reviewed of about 7 years ago.  Their brand of symphonic metal at the time recalled Rage for Order era Queensryche.  Now, the Dogma has taken on a darker, ever so slightly gothic metal approach with their latest release Black Widow.  Dirty Dark Diane is their latest video and features the gorgeous Sophie Cirlig.

Quick Blasts: Cauldron

Canada's Cauldron has a new release out called, Burning Fortune.  Fans of traditional heavy metal with no frills will eat the former Goat Horn members band up.  The band toured extensive the past 2 years with the likes of Enforcer and Icarus Witch.  Burning Fortune is available now on Earache Records.  Look for Cauldron on tour this Spring 2011 with Holy Grail, comprised of 3/4's of the original White Wizzard. Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Pittsburgh, PA 12/23/2003

Trans-Siberian Orchestra has come a long way from playing the small theaters and select (but sold out) dates that started things off just five years ago. With three stellar albums to date and more to come, the unprecedented blend of hard rock and orchestrated Christmas favorites can now be found in live performances from two touring companies packing arena-sized houses across the United States from Thanksgiving to New Year’s. Tate, Geoff - Pittsburgh, PA 7/13/2002

Appropriately, Geoff Tate’s solo touring band featured all of the musicians from his new Sanctuary release. C. Fox, Scott Moughton, Evan Schiller, Howard Chilcott, and Jeff Carrell to be exact. Everyone but the Cello player, Tate jokes.

Prior to the start of the tour Tate told TPRS.com that he was "very anxious to go on tour this summer, and really looking forward to it.” Read the complete Tate, Geoff - Pittsburgh, PA 7/13/2002 review...

Dio - Cleveland, OH 12/6/2002

As a follow-up to a successful summer tour with Deep Purple and the Scorpions, Ronnie James Dio returned this fall as promised with Jimmy Bain (bass); Doug Aldrich (guitar); Simon Wright (drums); and Scott Maxwell (keyboards). Warming up the audience was an interesting mix of the Swedish Hammerfall and the progressive King’s X… Read the complete Dio - Cleveland, OH 12/6/2002 review...

Iron Maiden - Burgettstown, PA 8/11/2000

As stated both in the print media and by lead vocalist Bruce Dickinson himself, Iron Maiden’s “Brave New World” tour is not a rehash of their past glories, but an introduction to a new century of Maiden music madness. Read the complete Iron Maiden - Burgettstown, PA 8/11/2000 review...

Black Label Society - 1919 Eternal

There is no questioning of the talent of guitarist Zakk Wylde as he showcases the evolution of the Black Label Society with the band’s third album. The opening track “Bleed For Me” is reason enough to get this album, it’s strong, it’s heavy, it’s everything that Black Label stands for.
