Obviously a parody of Manowar, all the way down to Kings Of
Metal being portrayed like the Village People on the cover,
Nanowar can play pretty well, have a good vocalist, and a sense
of humor that wears thin after a couple of songs.
While
the metal genre does leave itself open for jokes and ridicule,
no other genre generates as many comedy acts (as witnessed by
groups like Tenacious D, Spinal Tap, 3 Inches Of Blood,
Metal Shop and Conquest of Steel). Whether these guys are
actually fans of Manowar, Iron Maiden, etc. this stuff won't
sustain any type of career or generate much in the way of repeat
sales. Strictly a one listen disc that will probably get
smashed by an angered fan who doesn't like the joke.
