Classic power metal in the vein of the mighty Omen, Enchanter's
"Symbols In Stone" is a 7-track release that will not disappoint
fans of the early 80's American metal movement. The songs
are typical of what you may have found on compilations such as
New York Metal 84 or the first Iron Tyrants. Lead vocalist
Maurice Fauteux has as voice that recalls nobody in particular
with a certain amount of a whiskey rasp. Guitarist John
Chouinard has the old school metal sound down pat. The
track that stands out is the 7 minute plus "Isle Of Avalon"
which is pure epic metal bliss with Fauteux's vocals soaring
into the higher range. The slow build works very well into
a Maidenesque finale.
